Available at 8ft wide, for those wallpapering the lobby. Very interesting technology — a widget called a Gigapan Epic Robotic Camera Mount. David Bergman’s panorama of President Obama’s Inaugural is a composite of 220 images, composed into a 59,783 x 24,658 pixels or 1,474 megapixels (20 x 11 shots.) The scan took 15 minutes to complete. This technology is plainly a must for people going to the Battle of Lepanto, the execution of Charles I, Queen Victoria’s Golden Jubilee, VE Day, and the like, along with photographers doing very big schools or McCartney weddings. There are good examples of some of the other fun you can have on the Gigapan site.
