Barack Obama’s inauguration preparations are well in hand, as the free world awaits some fresh thinking. Meanwhile Despair.com celebrates its 500,000th order. Even Budweiser guys are gagging for a bit of hope:

Well, we'll all see. Certainly here in the UK very similiar things were said about Tony Blair in 1997. I remember being solemnly told that the trade unions would be running the country by 2000. I have to admit the results were not entirely delightful, but neither were they either what was promised (law of unintended consequences) or as predicted by Blair's opponents...
