Back in August I feared Ventriloquism was a dying art. Step forward the wonderful Nina Conti, and an engaging but slightly depressive simian chum Monk:
I love the playful, but almost creepily realistic, way she hams up the whole idea that Monk really is someone else — Realism begets surrealism. Good honest Ventriloqism is not dead! Acknowledging rather than blurring what is really going on between comedian and dummy actually improves the act!
